1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using WeRide, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of service

WeRide is a group ride coordination application that provides real-time location sharing, turn-by-turn navigation, group messaging, expense splitting, and safety features for riders and drivers. The App is designed to facilitate group travel coordination and is not a transportation service.

3. User accounts

To use WeRide, you must:

• Be at least 13 years of age
• Create an account using Google Sign-In or email registration
• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use WeRide only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Use the App while operating a vehicle in a manner that is unsafe or violates traffic laws
• Share content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, or otherwise objectionable
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
• Use the App to track, stalk, or monitor another person without their consent
• Send spam or unsolicited messages through the App
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the App
• Share false emergency alerts or misuse the SOS feature

5. Safety disclaimer

IMPORTANT: WeRide is a coordination tool, not a safety device. While we provide features like crash detection, SOS alerts, and hazard reporting:

• These features are provided "as-is" and may not function correctly in all conditions
• Crash detection uses accelerometer data and may produce false positives or miss actual incidents
• You should not rely solely on WeRide for emergency response
• Always follow local traffic laws and ride safely regardless of app features
• WeRide is not a substitute for calling emergency services (112/100/108)
• We are not responsible for the accuracy of navigation directions, speed camera locations, or hazard reports

6. Content and intellectual property

You retain ownership of content you share through WeRide (messages, photos, routes). By sharing content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, display, and transmit that content as necessary to operate the App.

The WeRide name, logo, and App design are our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or distribute them without permission.

7. Group conduct

Group creators and managers are responsible for moderating content within their groups. We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms. Users can report inappropriate content or behavior through the App's feedback feature.

8. Location sharing and privacy

WeRide shares your real-time location with group members during active rides. You can pause location sharing at any time. By joining a group and starting a ride, you consent to sharing your location with other members of that group. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

9. Expense splitting

WeRide's expense splitting feature is a calculation and tracking tool only. We do not process payments or facilitate money transfers between users. Actual payment settlement is the responsibility of the users involved.

10. Third-party services

WeRide integrates with third-party services including Google Sign-In, OpenStreetMap-based routing, and weather services. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of these third-party services.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• WeRide is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind
• We are not liable for any injuries, accidents, or damages that occur during rides
• We are not liable for incorrect navigation directions, missed hazards, or failed crash detection
• We are not liable for data loss, unauthorized access, or service interruptions
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (which is zero for free users)

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

13. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify you of significant changes through the App.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
